AbstractThe presentation will sketch the company profile of ECN, the Energy research Center of the Netherlands. The role of ECN as a link between the academic research at universities and market applications with commercial parties will be described. Examples of the multiple facets of the technology portfolio of ECN in the areas of solar energy, wind energy, biomass, energy efficiency and policy studies will be given. In this context, possible career trajectories for new employees will be described.
The presentation will make clear how ECN follows its mission to develop knowledge and technology that enables a transition to a sustainable energy system – with and for the market.

Frank Lenzmann got a degree in chemistry at the University of Duisburg/Germany. He received a PhD degree in the area of materials science for photovoltaic applications at the EPFL/Switzerland. In 2001, Frank joined the solar energy unit at ECN where he is currently leading research projects for advanced photovoltaic concepts and environmental profiling of photovoltaic technologies. |
